Job Summary

The University Health Network invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner position in Complex Malignant Hematology Programs to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the care required for patients referred to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skill in a variety of complex malignant hematology sub-specialties.

Sub-Specialty Areas

  • Leukemia (Outpatient): Rotating through Malignant Hematology Day Unit, Leukemia Rapid Assessment Clinic (RAC), and the Bone Marrow Biopsy and Aspirate clinic (BMBA)
  • Leukemia (Inpatient/Clinics): Member of the interprofessional team, rotating between inpatient Leukemia units and outpatient Leukemia clinics
  • Allo Transplant Team: Member of the interprofessional provider team, rotating between inpatient Allo transplant unit, outpatient treatment areas, and clinic settings
  • Lymphoma, Myeloma, Auto Transplant Program: Member of the interprofessional provider team, rotating between outpatient treatment areas and inpatient units, providing care for patients undergoing intensive lymphoma/myeloma care and/or autologous stem cell transplant

Requirements

The successful candidate will require clinical skills to care for patients, as well as a level of comfort with an evolving role based on needs within the site group and the continued expansion of the lymphoma, myeloma, and autologous blood and marrow transplant program.

Education and Experience

  • Current College of Nurses of Ontario Registration in the Extended Class (EC) as a Nurse Practitioner required
  • Completion of a Master's degree required
  • Demonstrated expertise as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
  • Up to five (5) years of relevant experience; including three (3) years of experience working in malignant hematology preferred
