The Opportunity

We are seeking a full or part-time primary care nurse practitioner to join our team. As a nurse practitioner, you will provide general and preventative care, conduct check-ups, treat illnesses, order lab tests, and prescribe medication for children and adults. You will work independently to perform age-appropriate history and physicals, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and implement interventions to support patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physicals for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients' age-specific needs
  • Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
  • Implements interventions to support patients to regain or maintain physiologic stability
  • Assists with the provision of surgical care in accordance with facility, provincial, and federal regulations
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
  • Provides medical advice to patients and/or their families
  • Makes evidence-based medical decisions
  • Advocates patient care
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
  • Successful completion of a master's program
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Professional Liability Insurance
  • 1-2 years experience in the Nurse Practitioner role preferred
  • Current First aid and CPR certification
  • Must be permanently eligible to work in Canada (Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen) or have a Work Permit valid beyond months
