We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Faculty Member to join our Kinesiology department at Humber College. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for teaching, research, and industry collaboration.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses within the Kinesiology program cluster. They will also contribute to curriculum development, applied research projects, and student advising. The incumbent will work collaboratively with colleagues to advance faculty and program priorities.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in the fitness and health industry and 5 years of teaching at the post-secondary level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biomechanics, exercise prescription, and fitness assessment. A graduate degree in Kinesiology or a related field is required, with a focus on biomechanics being an asset.

In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners. They will be able to manage classroom dynamics, design innovative learning experiences, and contribute to the development of new programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the Kinesiology program cluster
  • Contribute to curriculum development and review
  • Develop and lead applied research projects within the Fitness and Health programs
  • Provide academic advising and support to students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to advance faculty and program priorities
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in Kinesiology or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the fitness and health industry
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level
  • Strong background in biomechanics, exercise prescription, and fitness assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
