A.S.P. Incorporated is seeking experienced security professionals for a challenging role in City of Toronto Respite, Refugee, and Shelter locations.

As a Security Specialist with A.S.P., you will be responsible for providing Security Guard Services at Respite Center, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, observing and investigating possible breaches of security, fire and safety hazards, illegal entry, theft, and malfunction or interruption of utilities.

You will act as an ambassador of the client site by creating a presence that builds a safe and welcoming environment for all service users, employees, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing Security Guard Services at Respite Center
  • Monitoring and patrolling assigned areas;
  • Observing, investigating and acting on possible breaches of security, fire and safety hazards, illegal entry, theft, and malfunction or interruption of utilities;
  • Acting as an ambassador of the client site by creating a presence that builds a safe and welcoming environment for all service users, employees, and visitors;
  • Informing the designated authorities in the event of security, fire, or health emergencies;
  • Liaising with Shelter management to communicate any issues and challenges to site operations;

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • 1 year of Canadian Police or Canadian Armed forces experience
  • Graduate from a recognized community college in thee field of law enforcement, security administration or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience within North American security industry and experience in a related security function
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Strong communication and observation skills
  • Ability to work in high stress environment
  • Ability to make quick and informed decisions
  • Licensed by the Province of Ontario as a registered Security Guard and must maintain the license for the duration of employment
  • Smart Serve, De-Escalation, SCDT, Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certifications
