Tactical Security Specialist

The Security Guard at Respite Shelter plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and premises. This position entails implementing security protocols, monitoring access, responding to incidents, and fostering a supportive atmosphere within the shelter setting.
As a security professional with 2 years of experience in Tactical Security, you will contribute to the shelter's growth and development in Law Enforcement. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and build a rewarding career.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access points to the respite shelter.
- Verify the identity of individuals seeking respite services and ensure compliance with shelter policies.
- Conduct regular patrols inside and around the shelter premises to deter and detect security risks.
- Use surveillance systems to monitor key areas and respond promptly to any unusual activities.
- Respond promptly to calls for service, emergencies, or security incidents within the shelter.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard license in accordance with local regulations.
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR certification Standard C approved by WSIB.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Empathy and sensitivity towards individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis.
- Training in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Tactical Security.
