Casual Library Technician Job Description

We are seeking a Casual Library Technician to join our team at the Ottawa Catholic School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the school library and providing information services to staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the school library and provide information services to staff and students
  • Promote authors, books, and special events
  • Perform administrative functions associated with the library and/or school
  • Coordinate volunteers' activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Completed secondary school
  • Two-year Community College diploma in Library Technician or equivalent
  • Two to three years of related experience
  • Expertise with Destiny, L4U, computer hardware and software, and various AV equipment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work on call during regular school hours
  • May require the use of a personal vehicle
