Position Summary:

As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, the Health Care Aide plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to our clients. Reporting directly to the Client Service Manager, this position is responsible for observing, monitoring, and reporting on client status and condition, including changes in physical and emotional status. The Health Care Aide ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Responsibilities:
Deliver prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure.
Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times, in keeping with Carewest's Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care, and Carewest policies.
Perform other related duties as required.

Program Summary:
Our Complex Care program is designed for frail seniors who require the care of an interdisciplinary team to maintain and improve quality of life in safe, comfortable, and supportive environments. Carewest offers a mix of secured and unsecured units, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for our clients.

Qualifications and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required.
Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients.
Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory is required.
Related experience in a healthcare facility is an asset.
Program-specific training/experience is an asset.
