About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Metro Xpress Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and Inspection: Identify and diagnose faults and malfunctions in heavy-duty equipment using computerized and other testing equipment.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repair work on heavy trucks, clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications and perform quality control checks to ensure work meets high standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, advising customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete reports to record problems and work performed, and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Team Collaboration: Coach and instruct apprentices, and work collaboratively with other team members to achieve maintenance goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Schedule: 30 hours per week.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position that requires attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Overtime may be required.
