Job Summary

Sunrise Freight Systems Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty equipment, ensuring that our fleet is running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment: Use computerized and other testing equipment to detect faults and malfunctions in heavy-duty equipment.
  • Diagnose and Repair Faults: Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Order and Maintain Inventory: Order parts and maintain inventory to ensure that necessary components are available for repairs.
  • Adjust and Repair Equipment: Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts to ensure that heavy-duty equipment is running smoothly.
  • Keep Maintenance Reports: Keep maintenance reports and documentation to track repairs and maintenance performed on heavy-duty equipment.
  • Welding Experience: Possess welding experience to repair and maintain heavy-duty equipment.
  • Test and Inspect Repaired Equipment: Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Clean and Maintain Equipment: Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to ensure that heavy-duty equipment is running efficiently.
  • Repair Heavy Trucks: Perform repair work on heavy trucks to ensure that they are running smoothly and safely.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Site Environment: Physically demanding work site environment with noisy conditions.
  • Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, and hand-eye coordination required.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, excellent oral communication, flexible, judgmental, reliable, and team player.
Experience
  • Experience in the Field: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field of heavy-duty equipment repair.
  • Language of Work: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
