Job Summary

Sunrise Freight Systems Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, utilizing computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and order necessary parts to maintain inventory.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, ensuring all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work as required.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Attach components and adjust new farm equipment, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks, utilizing welding experience and other skills as required.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility and reliability.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a noisy environment and will be expected to wear steel-toed safety boots.
