Job Overview

As a Banquet Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our banquet facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to set up and break down meeting rooms, banquet space, and ballroom areas, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Set up and/or break down tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, and platforms/stages as specified by group requirements. Ensure that table linens, skirting, and table top items are properly arranged.
  2. Clean, store, and secure all tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment, platforms/stages, and other equipment used for banquet functions.
  3. Maintain the cleanliness of banquet rooms, banquet hallways, and storage and service areas.
  4. Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all equipment to be set up in function areas and report any damages or issues to your supervisor.
  5. Refresh rooms during breaks by replenishing supplies, water pitchers, etc.
  6. Retrieve clean linen and skirting and stock in storage areas.
  7. Pick up and deliver all boxes and materials (flip charts, easels, blackboards, etc.) for functions.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to Company and Brand Standards.
Qualifications and Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills are required. General knowledge of banquet operations is preferred.

This role requires the ability to:

  • Remain stationary for extended periods
  • Carry or lift items up to 100 pounds (tables, chairs, stages)
  • Move about function areas
  • Bend, stoop, and kneel

Other requirements include:

  • Effective communication skills for interacting with guests, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Reading and writing abilities for banquet event orders and instructions
  • Basic math skills for setting up tables, settings, chairs, etc.
  • Alcohol Awareness certification as required by local or state government agency
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
