**Job Overview**

As a key member of the Easton's Group of Hotels team, the Banquet Porter is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of banquet events. This involves setting up and breaking down meeting rooms, banquet spaces, and ballrooms, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of corridors, vending areas, elevators, and service areas.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, and platforms/stages, as specified by group requirements.
  • Clean, store, and secure all tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment, platforms/stages, and other equipment used for banquet functions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of banquet rooms, banquet hallways, and storage and service areas.
  • Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all equipment to be set up in function areas and report any damages or issues to the supervisor.
  • Refresh rooms during breaks by replenishing supplies, water pitchers, etc.
  • Retrieve clean linen and skirting and stock in storage areas.
  • Pick up and deliver all boxes and materials (flip charts, easels, blackboards, etc.) for functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to all Company and Brand Standards.

**Qualifications and Requirements**

The ideal candidate will possess basic reading and writing skills, as well as general knowledge of banquet operations. Additionally, they should be able to perform the following physical tasks:

  • Remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Carry or lift items of up to and including 100 pounds (e.g., tables, chairs, stages).
  • Move about the function areas.
  • Bend, stoop, and kneel.

**Other Requirements**

  • Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Reading and writing abilities are necessary for banquet event orders and instructions.
  • Basic math skills are used frequently to ensure proper set up of tables, settings, chairs, etc.
  • Alcohol Awareness certification may be required by local or state government agencies.
  • The ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays may be required.
