Job Summary

The Director of Resident Experience is a critical role within our communities, impacting the lives of residents through strong leadership and motivation of team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure resident care needs are assessed, determine corresponding care fees and staffing requirements as applicable.
  • Assess the needs of individual residents and develop their personal service plans in accordance with Assisted Living Regulations; communicate deployment to wellness team members and direct team members regarding interventions.
  • Work with the Regional Manager of Wellness Services to implement established policies and procedures with the objective of ensuring that desirable standards are met.
  • Manage team members in accordance with policies, legislation, applicable collective agreement or employee association agreement.
  • Develop professional and collaborative relationships with healthcare team members, participate in marketing outreach such as presentations on wellness services and aging in place philosophy, and conduct assessments to determine suitability for admission.
  • Participate in the preparation of the Department budget and administer the approved budget within established parameters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation and/or retirement living.
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership abilities in the areas of human resources.
  • Express initiative, good judgment and foster a positive work atmosphere.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
