Architectural Technician I

Main Responsibilities

This role involves technical office and field work, including the preparation and maintenance of conceptual plans, working drawings, and record drawings for the construction or renovation of civic buildings and facilities.

Key Duties

  • Prepare and/or maintain records, files, reports, specifications, and record drawings of all City buildings and related structures.
  • Manage data and drawing archives.
  • Prepare architectural renderings, layouts, charts, and visual aid material for presentations to management and Council.
  • Assemble building and furniture background information for major renovation projects.

Requirements

Candidates must have courses in Building Technology, plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Skills and Abilities

The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of architectural drafting methods, practices, and techniques, including computer-aided drafting and specification preparation.

They will also have working knowledge of construction methods, practices, and materials, as well as current construction costs applicable to the work performed.

A Police Record Check is a requirement of this position.
