Job Summary

The City of Vancouver seeks a skilled Architectural Technician I to join our team in the Real Estate, Environment and Facilities Management department. This role involves technical office and field work, preparing and maintaining conceptual plans, working drawings, and record drawings for civic buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain records, files, reports, specifications, and record drawings of City buildings and related structures.
  • Manage data and drawing archives, and prepare architectural renderings, layouts, charts, and visual aid material for presentations.
  • Assemble building and furniture background information for major renovation projects.

Requirements

  • Education and experience in building technology, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of architectural drafting methods, practices, and techniques, including computer-aided drafting and specification preparation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
