Indigenous Financial Management Specialist

About the Role

MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm for Indigenous Nations, businesses, and entrepreneurs in Canada. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Indigenous EASE Services team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the proposal, planning and delivery of client engagements, including project logistics
  • Conduct thorough business and program assessments, focusing on people, processes, and technology to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Deliver exceptional client service, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional responses to business development and project-related requests
  • Complete business process mapping and analysis to drive improved outcomes
  • Innovate and contribute new ideas to enhance work processes and efficiencies
  • Bring expertise with cloud accounting software to support clients and team members with proficiency
  • Support clients in implementing new financial software and provide ongoing support to ensure long-term success

Requirements

  • Three to five years of business experience in a client-service environment with a preference for experience with Indigenous Peoples, communities or organizations
  • Solid understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping including trial balances, general ledger databases, and financial statement processes with demonstrated project management skills
  • CPA or CAFM designation an asset
  • Related certifications are advantageous
  • Flexibility to travel to engage with clients in-person, as needed
