Senior Electrical Power Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Power Engineer to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our electrical/automation team, you will be responsible for working with various clients in completing feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects for underground and surface mining operations.
Key Responsibilities- Safety First: You will be responsible for understanding and working in compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients.
- Project Execution: You will work with a team of engineers and designers in the planning and execution of project work, including scoping, asset integrity assessments, as-built documentation, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering.
- Client Support: You will provide clients with engineering support to meet their needs and incorporate client suggestions for future requirements in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Team Collaboration: You will regularly interface with other disciplines and departments to execute projects.
- Design Review: You will be responsible for the review and analysis of drawings for possible safety and constructability problems prior to issuance to clients.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, particularly surface or underground mining.
- Technical Skills: Required technical experience in electrical infrastructure & power distribution systems design, mine infrastructure design, mine wide power distribution and capacitive charging current/ground potential rise assessments, condition assessment and function testing, lighting design and modelling, ground system design and ground grid testing, mine services process control & instrumentation design, hoisting system process control and interfaces, ventilation/ventilation-on-demand, process piping systems, and industrial buildings services.
