Your Role at EXP
As a key member of the mining division, you will operate from one of our various offices.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading, supervising, and mentoring electrical design staff in their duties.
- Designing power systems, PLC automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Overseeing the development of design concepts and ensuring proper execution.
- Verifying the quality of work against specifications, reports, and codes.
- Mentoring junior staff and fostering their professional growth.
- Implementing EXP's risk management practices in electrical engineering.
- Guiding the design team to produce engineering documents that align with project goals within set timelines and budgets.
- Applying a solid understanding of engineering principles to all aspects of discipline engineering.
- Promoting collaboration to achieve optimal solutions.
- Managing work plans and deliverables across multiple projects efficiently.
- Composing studies and reports related to electrical systems.
- Executing complex electrical designs that involve conflicting requirements.
- Conducting front-end loading of electrical systems for various projects.
- Contributing to the refinement of EXP's design standards and specifications.
- Evaluating cost-cutting measures while assessing associated risks.
- Developing design narratives that outline project scopes.
- Designing high, medium, and low voltage AC and DC systems.
- Specializing in Protection & Control design.
- Creating electrical one-lines, load lists, and area classifications.
- Participating in HAZOP, PHA, and safety reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the mining sector.
