About the Role: We're seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team as a Professional Engineering Year (PEY) Student. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where you will contribute to OPG's public outreach, engagement, and education efforts as part of the company's commitment to growing its social license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with a multi-disciplined team of engineering and technical specialists to support the generation of various systems.
- Contribute to the overall objective of achieving an integrated environment dedicated to the safe and reliable operation of OPG's plants.
- Assist with developing and executing projects in compliance with the nuclear industry's demanding set of regulations and standards using established project management processes.
- Maintain written documented processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods and additions to all supported systems.
Requirements:
- Pursuing an Engineering or Applied Science undergraduate degree on a full-time basis.
- By the start of the opportunity, will have completed 3rd year of a 4-year program or 4th year of a 5-year program.
- Have a minimum average of 70% cGPA (B-).
- Be returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term.
- Meet the minimum Internship or Co-op Program eligibility requirements as defined by your academic institution.
- Be enrolled in one of the following Engineering and Applied Science disciplines:
- Civil
- Electrical
- Mechanical
Qualifications:
- Structural engineering courses and experience (Civil position).
- Sound fundamental knowledge of engineering principles.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude in numerical analysis.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and trouble-shoot.
- Excellent verbal, written, and inter-personal communication skills.
- Project management experience.
- Organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
