Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Financial Services Specialist to join our team, responsible for project analysis, financial management, and accounting of the General Real Estate Portfolio (GREP) Construction Projects. As a key member of our finance group, you will provide expert financial reporting and analysis to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in project accounting, budgeting, and financial management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and ERP software such as Yardi Voyager, is essential. If you have experience in construction or real estate projects and are passionate about delivering high-quality results, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis for GREP construction projects, including capitalization requirements, billing, and costing.
  • Ensure adherence to professional accounting standards, including capitalization and revenue recognition.
  • Review project recoveries for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in project controls audit requirements and support reconciliation and analysis of key balance sheet items.
  • Prepare variance analysis and quarterly financial statements for stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial data in project management systems.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must have experience in project accounting, preferably in construction or real estate projects.
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing designation is considered an asset.
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles, including Public Sector Accounting Board Standards (PSAB), practices, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ERP software such as Yardi Voyager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and present reports.
