Financial Reporting Specialist

As a Financial Reporting Specialist, you will play a key role in providing support to the finance team with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monthly consolidation process in Netsuite, preparing consolidation journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations using BlackLine.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements, covenant reporting packages, and Statistics Canada Survey.
  • Analyze and reconcile financial data.
  • Prepare annual financial statements, including notes for both consolidated and non-consolidated entities.
  • Provide support during annual audits.
  • Coordinate with various departments to obtain information for reporting needs.
  • Maintain Netsuite reports.
  • Review chart of account mapping for new subsidiaries and acquisitions.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, including regulatory reporting assistance.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
  • CPA designation or designation in progress.
  • 2+ years of practical experience in a finance department or accounting firm.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with IFRS.
  • Solid experience with financial statements, including direct involvement in preparation and notes.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with all levels of leadership, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Results-driven individual with strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Considerations:

  • NetSuite and BlackLine experience.
  • Practical experience within the financial services industry.
