Job Summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Project Coordinator to provide administrative support to the Emerging Radio Systems Group (EmRG). The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating large-scale projects, managing project schedules and deadlines, and providing administrative support to the research team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research projects, including tracking project schedules and deadlines, and managing project workflow
  • Provide administrative support to the research team, including preparing reports, and managing project finances
  • Liaise with researchers, collaborators, and agencies to ensure smooth project execution
  • Coordinate the planning and logistics for site visits, research symposia, and other events
  • Assist with the preparation of grant proposals and reports, and manage project budgets
  • Provide on-boarding for new research team members, and maintain accurate records of project agreements

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or higher degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience may be considered
  • 3 years related administrative experience, preferably in a university research environment
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, databases, and web-based applications
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, including an ability to interact professionally and effectively
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and flexibility
  • Good judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management, organization, and coordination skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact
