Job Title: Excavating Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Excavating Machine Operator to join our team at Leading Edge Earthworks. As an Excavating Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, and bulldozers to excavate and move earth and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to excavate and move earth and other materials.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Measure distance, volume, length, and weight to ensure accurate excavation and material movement.
  • Understand and follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Complete onboard and other logs to track equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Prepare accident reports and secure special attachments to equipment as needed.
  • Operate GPS and other navigation equipment to ensure accurate excavation and material movement.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment and read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
Requirements:
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
Working Conditions:
  • Physically demanding work environment.
