Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Social Worker II to join our team at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. As a Social Worker II, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing family and patient-centered care and support within the forensic portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide supportive counseling, resource-based interventions, and comprehensive risk assessments to patients and their families.
- Work collaboratively with community agencies and programs to benefit patients and families.
- Make appropriate referrals to services both internal and external to the healthcare setting.
- Prioritize workload, analyze complex problems, and identify viable care plans and solutions to address psychosocial needs.
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in Social Work.
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in mental health and addiction settings.
- Excellent knowledge of Mental Health and addictions.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Connect Care, Outlook, MS Office, Teams, and Zoom.
- Forensic and correctional experience.
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary team.
- In-depth knowledge of working with Income Support programs at a community/provincial/federal level.
