Job Title: Pediatric Social Worker II

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pediatric Social Worker II to join our team at the Stollery Children's Hospital in the Stollery Emergency Department. As a member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will provide a range of social work services to patients and their families, including psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counseling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide social work services to patients and their families in the pediatric emergency department, including assessment, intervention, and coordination of care.
  • Collaborate with the inter-disciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients and their families.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on topics such as coping with illness, managing stress, and accessing community resources.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of social work services in the pediatric emergency department.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
  • Experience working in a pediatric emergency setting, pediatric mental health, pediatric critical care, or pediatric quaternary trauma care.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
