Position Overview

The Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting the Client Experience, Legal, HR, and Corp Dev team on annual budgeting and forecasting, long-term strategic planning, quarterly business reporting, month-end reporting and analysis, and other ad hoc requests as required. This position will also provide finance leadership on business case development, benefit tracking, and expense optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial guidance to multiple work streams across People Corporation.
  • Lead the planning and execution of the annual operating budget, quarterly forecast, and long-term strategic plan for the Client Experience, HR, Legal, and Corp Dev team.
  • Partner with stakeholders to optimize expenses and create financial capacity for the team to achieve objectives.
  • Conduct monthly financial reporting for the Client Experience, HR, and Corp Dev team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency for timely submission to various stakeholders, including providing support during the validation process and analysis to explain variances to budget and forecast.
  • Participate in the formulation of complex business cases by working with workstreams and the business, challenging assumptions, and providing valuable insights on the overall adequacy of the business case. Develop supporting financial models in Excel based on historical information and identified key business drivers.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting while ensuring compliance with the company's business and regulatory objectives.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to support investment decisions and activities.
  • Identify and implement leading finance best practices.
  • Lead and manage special projects or ad hoc requests as assigned.
  • Provide ad hoc support and analysis when needed.

Requirements

  • University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or other relevant discipline is required.
  • Professional expertise with at least 5-7 years of experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • CPA designation would be an asset.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of financial metrics and analytical tools.
  • Expertise in process optimization and design.
  • Strong financial reporting, project controls, management skills, business modeling, and forecasting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and public relations skills.
