About the Role:This is a permanent contract position located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Sanctions Compliance Expert, responsible for overseeing sanction list management matters. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sanctions compliance, including experience with Fircosoft screening applications and list management.
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the implementation of sanctions screening software, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and providing advisory support to business units. Your expertise will ensure that our organization remains compliant with OFAC, EU, and other applicable sanctions laws and regulations.
Your Responsibilities:- Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of our sanctions screening lists and rules
- Liaise with Group Compliance and Technology teams on sanctions screening issues
- Proactively identify regulatory compliance and operational issues and implement solutions to improve the control environment
- Recommend opportunities for improving the sanctions screening process and develop structure for ongoing reviews of interdiction lists
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong public speaking skills
- Ability to work closely with technology teams and explain regulatory needs to system developers and technicians
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic working environment
- Prior sanctions compliance experience, including experience with Fircosoft screening applications and list management
