The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from $32.84 to $41.35 per hour, as per our current wage scale.


Job Description


As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Northern Health Authority, you will be working within the context of a client and family-centered care model and in accordance with the standards, scope, and code of ethics as outlined by BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).


You will work under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor or designate, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to apply the Nursing Process, perform assessments, plan, provide nursing care, and may provide direction to other staff.


Required Skills and Qualifications


To succeed in this role, you must have:



  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant;
  • One year of recent, related acute care or residential experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills within a specific clinical specialty or patient population dependent on the nature of the caseload;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to assign care and share knowledge with the multidisciplinary team, clients, and families;
  • Ability to organize work;
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others;
  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients;
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize; and ability to initiate and implement a plan of care;
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including proficiency in relevant computer applications;
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

This role is based in Burns Lake, a charming community surrounded by wilderness and some of BC's largest freshwater lakes where sport fishing is a popular activity for both locals and tourists.


With a population of 1,779 local residents, Burns Lake serves the surrounding areas of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako estimating a population of 7,000.
