About the Role

As a highly skilled Advanced Healthcare Professional with the Government of Nunavut, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services to residents in your community. Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Providing professional nursing care and community health services to clients;
  • Developing, facilitating, implementing, and modifying client and family education/teaching based on client needs;
  • Conducting health surveillance and preventative activities to improve population health;
  • Providing expert and specialized knowledge of primary health care related to nursing in Nunavut;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Graduate Level Advanced Nursing Practice degree or a Certificate in Advanced Nursing Practice or Nurse Practitioner- Primary Health Care Diploma;
  • Eligibility to register as an NP with Registered Nurses Association of Northwest Territories and Nunavut (RNANTNU);
  • Two years of NP experience preferred but consideration given to new NP graduates with 5 years recent RN experience in acute care settings;
  • Possession of one or more of the following would be preferable: Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Neonatal resuscitation (NRP), ALARM, STABLE, Fetal Monitoring, pelvic examination, labour and delivery experience with advanced obstetrical training;

  • A competitive salary ranging from $109,481 to $124,247 per year;

  • A recruitment bonus of $5,000 on start date, $5,000 at 18 months of service, and $10,000 at 30 months of service;
  • A $9,000 Annual Frontline Allowance and a $375 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4,500 per year;
