Job Title: Tax Specialist

Overview:

The Tax Specialist will be responsible for assisting clients with tax preparation, filing, and providing general tax-related advice. In this role, you will work closely with clients to ensure accurate tax filings while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and compliance with tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare individual and small business tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies and deductions to optimize their tax positions.
  • Assist clients with understanding tax obligations and filing deadlines.
  • Review financial documents and records to ensure accuracy and completeness for tax filings.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist in resolving tax issues or disputes with local and federal agencies.
  • Perform other tax-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in tax preparation or tax advisory (experience with tax software is a plus).
  • A high school diploma is required (post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field is an asset).
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and tax software.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
