Taxation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Taxation Specialist to join our team at Westmark Tax Group Inc. as a Senior Corporate Tax Professional/Accountant. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong background in taxation and accounting.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and develop technical competency in taxation and accounting.
- Stay up-to-date with the Firm's systems, software, research materials, and quality control procedures.
- Plan, schedule, and supervise client work, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Provide tax consulting services to develop appropriate plans or solutions to address client needs and achieve business objectives.
- Conduct detailed reviews of tax returns (personal and corporate) and identify engagement issues.
- Keep the partner informed of engagement progress and provide timely feedback on individual engagements.
- Prepare federal and provincial income taxes for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, trusts, partnerships, and exempt organizations as instructed by the Tax Partner.
- Deal with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals with guidance from the Senior Manager, Tax (Compliance).
- Demonstrate a commitment to advancing professional career with the Firm through post-qualification education, training, and skills development.
- Excellent degree of technical competency in Taxation.
- Appropriate degree of technical competency in Accounting.
- Well-rounded skills, including leadership and organizational abilities.
- CPA or equivalent qualified professional with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Completion of In Depth program Parts I and II.
- Excellent commitment to quality client service, quality of work, compliance with the Firm's policies and procedures, ethics, and integrity.
- Ability to effectively manage client services, plan engagements, manage work, and deliver results within reasonable budget constraints.
- Respect and acknowledgment of co-workers.
- Ability to manage day-to-day scheduling, staff issues, and communications with clients.
