Trans Mountain is seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our pipeline system.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, calibrate, and maintain process instrumentation, communication networks, and control equipment.
- Utilize electrical/instrument drawings sets and associated schematics to update as-built drawings.
- Support programming and troubleshooting of HMI and Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Provide Instrumentation support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Analyze and interpret information contained in SCADA, LOI displays, and P&ID drawings to ensure safe operation of facilities.
- Support Emergency Response initiatives and participate in training.
- Provide Operational support to ensure throughput and system reliability.
- High School completion.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a related field.
- Journeyman Instrumentation Certificate - Interprovincial Standard (IP) is required.
- Journeyman Electrician Red Seal Certificate would be an asset.
- Understanding of Canadian Electrical Code requirements, Process Control, and Hydro Test fundamentals are required.
- Commissioning and Start-Up experience would be an asset.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets, and employees, and the general public.
- Availability to be on call as part of an on-call rotation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Trans Mountain is a federal Crown corporation that operates Canada's only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia, and Washington state.
