About the Role

Covanta is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join our team at our state-of-the-art Waste to Energy facility in Courtice, Ontario. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to all Covanta safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, VFDs, control valves, and process control transmitters.
  • Inspect and test electrical and instrumentation equipment, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement improvements to our electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive records and documentation, including maintenance logs and equipment manuals.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair.
  • High school education and formal technical or apprentice training in electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Strong understanding of process automation and control systems, including PLCs and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and maintenance management software.
