Director of Optimization Research

CAE Flight Services is seeking a highly skilled Director, Operations Research to lead our international team specializing in optimization services. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing analytical methods to solve complex problems and drive business growth.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in operations research, with a Master's degree or higher in a related field. They will also have at least 10 years of experience in optimization solutions, with a proven track record of delivering complex solutions into hosted environments.
As a leader, you will be responsible for coaching and mentoring team members, establishing good practices and habits, and identifying areas for growth and improvement. You will also be expected to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers, and represent CAE in a positive and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement analytical methods to solve complex problems and drive business growth
- Lead an international team specializing in optimization services
- Coach and mentor team members to ensure high standards of software quality
- Establish good practices and habits within the team
- Identify areas for growth and improvement within the team
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers
- Represent CAE in a positive and professional manner
- Master's degree or higher in Operations Research, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in optimization solutions
- Strong leadership skills, with experience leading an international team
- Extensive knowledge of mathematical programming models, including LP/IP, network flow, graph theory, column generation, branch and bound, and large-scale optimization
- Strong knowledge of C++ (11+), object-oriented programming/design principles, and SOLID design patterns
- Ability to work independently, without routine supervision
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
