About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Optimization Services team at CAE. As an Optimization Services Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize airline operations, improving decision-making and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Research Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for Operations Research software for airline operations, including flight scheduling, route planning, crew management, and disruption management.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to Flight Services strategic planning initiatives by providing insights, recommendations, and expertise related to Operations Research professional services, client requirements, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Service Delivery: Lead the team providing timely and efficient delivery of software services to airline clients, including managed services, consulting, and training.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with airline clients, understanding their needs, and collaborating with them to develop tailored solutions that meet their operational requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a global team of Operations Research professionals, including business analysts, software developers, engineers, consultants, and support staff, to deliver high-quality solutions and services to clients.
  • Product Development: Work closely with product development teams to drive innovation, identify market trends, customer feedback, and industry best practices to enhance existing products and develop new software solutions that address emerging challenges and opportunities in the airline industry.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, allocating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of Operations Research processes, systems, and methodologies by analyzing performance metrics, gathering feedback, implementing best practices, and making adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and business opportunities, and use this information to inform strategic decision-making and product development efforts.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to software implementation, service delivery, client relationships, and market dynamics, and develop mitigation strategies to address these risks and ensure smooth operations, client satisfaction, and business continuity.
Requirements
  • 7+ years' experience with Pairing and Roster / PBS Optimization systems within the Crew Planning area of airline operations
  • Experience with disruption management systems for flight operations
  • Team leadership experience
  • Operations research or the equivalent bachelor's degree
  • Technical business analyst experience
  • Knowledge of software development / structure and design processes
