Technical Animation Director Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Animation Director to join our team at Ubisoft Entertainment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the technical animation team and drive innovation in game development.

About the Role
  • As a Technical Animation Director, you will be responsible for providing expert insight and tools to steer game development towards success.
  • You will establish an actionable plan to bridge the gap between ideas and implementation, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Your expertise in game design, programming, and animation will enable you to analyze risks and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • You will work closely with programmers to assess existing animation tools and design custom ones to improve pipelines.
  • You will support animators, game designers, and riggers with their technical needs and train team members on new tools and techniques.
Requirements
  • Around 7 years of experience in animation, rigging, or programming, with 3 years of leadership experience.
  • A degree in 3D Animation, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or related training.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, mentorship, time management, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • A highly innovative, collaborative, attentive, and solution-oriented spirit.
  • Critical thinking, curiosity, resourcefulness, and flexibility.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g. Jira) and version management systems (e.g. Perforce).
  • A passion for sharing knowledge and helping others learn and grow.
