About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Game UI Software Developer to join our team at Ubisoft Entertainment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing game user interface modules, working closely with designers and artists to create an engaging player experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Game Design Document Analysis: Read and understand game design documents to ensure alignment with intended player experiences.
  • UI Development: Develop UI modules for game presentations, including menu, HUD, and mini-games.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers and artists to integrate designs and animation.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide tools for UI systems and debugging through internal 'debug draw'.
  • Prototyping: Quickly prototype interaction concepts for the game in collaboration with design and programming teams.
  • Automated Testing: Develop automated tests APIs related to UI systems to ensure continuous health of the game.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent training or experience.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in C++ programming in the video game sector or embedded systems.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge in 3D Graphic programming, familiarity with user experience concepts, and knowledge of source control and multimedia integration.
Location and Salary

This is a hybrid position based in Quebec or Canada. The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
