Women's Community Outreach Advocate

About the JobWe are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Women's Community Outreach Advocate to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with women who have been criminalized and are currently living at our residential programs, providing them with support and connection to community resources. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Building positive relationships with women and supporting them in their reintegration into the community;
- Connecting women with appropriate services and supports to help them achieve their goals;
- Working collaboratively with other teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting women;
- Providing outreach services to women in the Fraser Valley Institution for Women, including promoting Atira's housing and support services.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A diploma in a related human/social service field or justice field;
- Minimum two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
- A valid First Aid Certificate;
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a vehicle while on shift;
- Reliable vehicle and ability to acquire Business Class insurance with $2 million liability;
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (achieved or upgraded within the past 12 months).
