Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at the Wellington Catholic District School Board. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the school board's business departments, including Finance, IT, and Program departments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Process Analysis: Partner with stakeholders to understand their business processes, prioritize information needs, and translate business requirements into system solutions.
  2. Process Documentation: Document As-is business processes and requirements for the Board's Student Information System.
  3. System Support: Support ad-hoc tasks and various business projects using tools to improve processes and increase productivity and efficiency.
  4. System Implementation: In collaboration with Corporate Services, implement systems and conduct end-user training.
  5. Data Analysis: Improve data gathering and presentation processes, automating whenever possible.
  6. Reporting and Analysis: Perform data analysis to test accuracy and determine reporting requirements.
  7. Enrolment Support: Support the verification and validation of enrolment data.
  8. Reporting Accuracy: Support improvements in reporting accuracy, timeliness, and insightfulness.
  9. Enrolment Audit: Coordinate enrolment audit initiatives.
  10. Process Support: Process support tickets for SIS, assisting end users with process/system issues.
  11. Documentation: Responsible for various types of documentation including business requirements, process mapping, and training materials.
  12. Financial Support: Support budgeting, government reporting, variance analysis, and reconciliation.
Requirements
  1. Education: Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in a related business or administrative field or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in a business environment with a focus on process improvement and data analysis.
  3. Technical Skills: Excellent computer and technical skills including the use of Excel for data analysis.
  4. Business Systems Experience: Experience in core business systems including, but not limited to procurement, accounting, and capital systems.
  5. System Implementation Experience: Experience in supporting system implementations and upgrades, including configuration and testing.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Data Analysis Experience: Experience in collecting, analyzing, and documenting users' business requirements and developing functional specifications, user documentation, testing criteria, etc.
  8. Business Intelligence Experience: Experience in data warehouse and business intelligence environments is an asset.
  9. Teamwork: Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  10. Problem-Solving: Detail-oriented and analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
  11. Independence: Proven ability to work independently as well as function effectively within a team.
