Job Summary

The Career Development Coordinator will work with international students and students engaging in work-integrated learning experiences to ensure they are life and career ready. This role is a key member of the Centre for Calling & Career Development (CCCD) team, supporting students in their initial integration into Canadian employment and career development pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide group and individual resume building and interview preparation workshops and coaching.
  • Offer one-on-one career coaching and career development support.
  • Assist international students with career development, career transition, job search, and other career challenges.
  • Coordinate logistics for events such as workshops, webinars, hiring fairs, and other career development initiatives.
  • Stay informed about key international student trends, labour market issues, and connect students with newcomer service providers.
  • Coordinate forms and processes for experiential learning, such as internships and co-ops.
  • Participate in larger career education initiatives, engaging with the CCCD team and providing support as needed.
  • Liaise with international support staff across campus, including the International Student Support Committee (ISSC).
  • Build relationships with employers in the community to support students in gaining employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a preference for liberal arts.
  • Certified Leadership/Career/Life Coach is preferred.
  • Some experience working with immigrant, refugee, or international students is preferred.
