We currently have and exciting opportunity for a **WorkBC Career Coach, Customized Employment Specialist (also known as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist)**. WorkBC is a BC government program that connects job seekers and employers - helping people find jobs, explore career options, and improve their skills, and helping employers find the right talent and grow their businesses.

**Customized Employment (CE)** is a flexible process designed to personalize the employment relationship between a job seeker and an employer in a way that meets the needs of both. CE involves providing individualized employment services to job seekers with complex needs and / or barriers to achieving and maintaining employment.

**Role and responsibilities**:

- Accept referral and review the client plan / documentation as provided by the referral source.
- Work with adults who have disabilities and are challenged by employment barriers to identify barriers to employment, strategies to overcome them, and, where appropriate, refer to additional services for further assistance and / or diagnostic assessments.
- Provide employment and motivational counseling.
- Deliver Customized Employment services, including completion of Discovery Assessment and Employment Profile, Job Carving and on-site Job Coaching to assist job seekers to achieve sustainable employment.
- Liaise with employers for the purpose of Job Development, in order to find paid employment for job seekers with disability-specific barriers to entering the workforce.
- Case manage services to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
- Complete required service reports.
- Achieve quality service standards for client satisfaction, timely delivery of service and employment outcomes.
- Travel will be required as related to Discovery, Job Development, Job Coaching and Sustainment Services.

The WorkBC Case Manager, Customized Employment Specialist may be required to work some evenings and weekends.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary Certificate, Diploma or Degree relevant to providing services to people with disabilities.
- Working towards or holding an associated relevant professional certification (i.e. Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP), Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP), or Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP).
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in Employment Services / Vocational Rehabilitation with people with disabilities.
- Sensitivity to issues / barriers that people with disabilities experience.
- A combination of education and WorkBC experience may be accepted.
