About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Proposal Manager to join our team at Sierra Space. As a key member of our Capture and Proposal Management team, you will be responsible for defining, refining, and overseeing key bid, proposal, and capture activities critical to accelerating the growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage complex proposals and bid preparations, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Review and approve solicitations, identify all requirements and criteria for evaluation, and review templates, tools, and guidelines for continuous improvement of the proposal process.
  • Oversight of proposal activity audits, proposal performance metrics, and improvements to the integration of program proposal efforts with the business process.
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of program managers and technical experts through the proposal process, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior business and government leaders, providing leadership and guidance within the workplace.
  • Experience in leading proposal development campaigns, activities, processes, and procedures, with a strong analytical background in preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes.
  • Prioritize tasking, coordinate writing assignments, deconflict proposal scheduling activities, provide proposal support resources, and ensure all possible resources are available to proposal activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or space-related field.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for required education.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in organizing, coordinating, and leading a diverse team through the proposal process.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business development, capture management, and processes, program management, science and engineering programs, acquisition processes, opportunity identification, and qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace.
  • Experience in leading proposal development campaigns, activities, processes, and procedures, with a strong analytical background in preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes.
  • Prioritize tasking, coordinate writing assignments, deconflict proposal scheduling activities, provide proposal support resources, and ensure all possible resources are available to proposal activities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Proven track record of success in organizing, writing, producing, delivering, and winning both large and small competitive proposals.
  • Proven collaboration, team building, active listening, and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to guide and motivate a team through challenges to optimize results.
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliance.
  • Demonstrated passion for working on high-technology applications for space missions.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of US Government budgeting and DoD acquisition processes.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense (Civilian), NASA/Civil or commercial space and/or US Military, with an understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, and adjacent markets.
