About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced External Relations Officer to join our team at the University of Toronto Scarborough. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing and maintaining strong relationships with co-op employers, ensuring that our students have access to high-quality, paid co-op work term opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with co-op employers to identify and develop new job opportunities for our students.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and identify target markets for co-op job development.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to attract new co-op employers and retain existing ones.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and support services to ensure that co-op students have access to a wide range of quality co-op work term opportunities.
  • Track and analyze data to determine trends and recommend target markets for co-op job development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a business-to-business sales environment, preferably in a co-op or work-integrated learning setting.
  • Proven track record of success in a target-driven environment, generating new business and building client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
