Job Summary

The Lubrication Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the optimal performance and longevity of equipment at McCain Foods. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure that all equipment is properly lubricated and maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Lubrication: Ensure that all equipment is lubricated to meet NLGI standards and OEM specifications.
  • Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment and develop maintenance plans to prevent downtime and optimize performance.
  • Lubricant Management: Manage inventory of lubricants and repair/spare parts, utilizing the FIFO method to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Auto Lubrication Systems: Maintain auto lubrication lines, including plumbing and inspection for damaged or leaking fittings.
  • Lubrication Cabinets and Tools: Maintain lubrication cabinets, tools, and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with other millwrights, leads, and supervisors to prioritize work and ensure that equipment is properly maintained.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of machines and equipment to prevent downtime and optimize performance.
  • Safety and Quality: Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to established procedures and protocols to ensure high-quality equipment maintenance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Must be a fully licensed industrial millwright with experience in lubrication programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Be able to read and understand blueprints, P&ID's, equipment manuals, and other relevant material. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Certifications and Training: Possess or have the ability to pass the Level 1 Machinery Lubricant Technician Exam (MLT I) or the Level 1 Machinery Lubrication Analyst Exam (MLA I) as provided by the International Council of Machinery Lubrication within one year.
