Job Summary:

The Industrial Lubrication Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the lubrication of equipment to optimize its life and reduce unplanned downtime. This role requires analyzing lubrication needs specific to equipment, managing and maintaining inventory necessary to perform repair and maintenance associated with lubrication of equipment, and ensuring all equipment is lubricated to meet NLGI standards/OEM specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lubrication Management: Ensure all equipment is lubricated to meet NLGI standards/OEM specifications, and maintain lubrication routes for all plant equipment.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Diagnose bearing and wear surface failure, set action plans to correct failures, and maintain all gearboxes to operating levels.

  • Inventory Management: Manage an inventory of filters and repair/spare parts utilizing the FIFO method.

  • Lubrication System Maintenance: Maintain auto lubrication lines, including plumbing and inspection for damaged or leaking fittings.

  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain lubrication cabinets, tools, and equipment.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with other millwrights, leads, or supervisors who have priority work needing to be completed, and conduct preventative maintenance and repair and lubricate machines and equipment.

  • Quality and Safety: Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the manager, and provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, or in person.

  • Professional Development: Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job, and possess or have the ability to pass Level 1 Machinery Lubricant Technician Exam (MLT I) or the Level 1 Machinery Lubrication Analyst Exam (MLA I) as provided by the international Council of Machinery Lubrication within one year.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Must be a fully Licensed Industrial Millwright with experience in lubrication programs in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge and Skills: Be able to read and understand blueprints, P&ID's, equipment manuals, and other relevant material, and possess knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • Soft Skills: Develop respectful, constructive, and cooperative working relationships with others, and demonstrate the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
