Ashoka Indian Cuisine is seeking a skilled Food Service Supervisor to lead our culinary team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food and service in our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Coordinate Staff: Lead a team of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Estimate Ingredients and Supplies: Accurately estimate the ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation, minimizing waste and excess.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food and service meet our high quality control standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment for our customers.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for our operations team.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on team performance, highlighting areas for improvement and success.

Requirements:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Setting: Relocation costs covered by employer.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
  • Support for Youths: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, promoting their development and growth.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees, fostering a welcoming environment for Indigenous workers.

Working Conditions:

  • Hours of Work: 32 to 40 hours per week.
