As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include:

* Ensuring the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
* Being accountable for appropriate workload and practice
* Continuum of patient care with healthcare providers within your practice and/or community
* Providing care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level healthcare
* Building to capacity within the first two years (new primary care providers)
* Operating within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
* Working toward same day or next day access for the practice population
* Working in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community's health needs
* Working with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required
* Participating in quality improvement and evaluation activities
* Utilizing an electronic medical record (EMR) and recording all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Qualifications include:

* Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
* Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
* Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
