Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled physician to join our team of healthcare professionals at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a family medicine physician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver High-Quality Patient Care: Ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients, including routine check-ups, health assessments, and management of chronic conditions.
  2. Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals, to provide seamless patient care.
  3. Provide Community-Based Care: Provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level health care, and work in collaboration with other team members to best suit the community's health needs.
  4. Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  5. Utilize Electronic Medical Records: Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members.
Requirements
  1. Eligibility for Licensure: All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  2. Experience in Emergency Department: Experience working in an emergency department is an asset.
  3. Membership with Canadian Medical Protective Association: Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
