Disaster Recovery Strategist for Technology Infrastructure

E-Comm 9-1-1 is a leading provider of emergency communications services, operating two emergency communications centers in Vancouver and Saanich. Our team is dedicated to serving communities across British Columbia through our four operational locations.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery Strategist for Technology Infrastructure to join our growing team. As a key member of our Technology Services department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the resilience and continuity of our technological infrastructure in the face of various disruptions.
Key Responsibilities- Developing, maintaining, and updating robust business continuity strategies, plans, policies, and procedures specific to Technology Services
- Conducting business impact analyses to identify critical functions and resources necessary for continuity during disruptions
- Maintaining an inventory of critical technologies, dependencies, and recovery time objectives (RTOs)
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to assess system recovery requirements and document disaster recovery strategies
- Monitoring and reporting on emerging threats and industry trends to enhance risk mitigation strategies
- Planning and executing business continuity and disaster recovery exercises to evaluate and improve response capabilities
- Identifying training needs and support programs to educate teams on emergency management protocols
- Maintaining accurate records of all disaster recovery plans, incidents, and lessons learned for program governance
- Supporting Incident Managers during emergency responses by coordinating resources across technical and operational teams
- Bachelor's degree in business continuity, emergency management, information technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in disaster recovery management and business continuity planning
- Experience in business and technology supporting resiliency planning and mission critical systems
- Project management and business analysis experience preferred
- Certification in business continuity, disaster recovery, or emergency management desirable
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery management and business continuity planning
- Understanding of industry standards for technology disaster recovery and continuity management
- Familiarity with core IT infrastructure and multi-data center environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills focused on IT resilience
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple continuity and recovery plans involving numerous stakeholders
- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities
- Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive in enhancing processes
- Ability to work under pressure and during business-related crises

- Competitive salary - $95,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, with the opportunity for increases
