Job Title: Cloud Performance Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Cloud Performance Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure to support our organization's digital transformation and business objectives. You will explore an extensive list of new technologies that will drive innovation across our products.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on platforms like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or other cloud providers.
  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture blueprints, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness while adhering to industry best practices.
  • Implement automated deployment, monitoring, and management processes to streamline cloud operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to facilitate seamless application migration to the cloud and integration with on-premises systems.
  • Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding sensitive data and intellectual property.
  • Implement solutions to monitor cloud services' performance, alert when systems are down, provide high availability, and identify bottlenecks.
  • Develop robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss in case of unexpected failures.
  • Diagnose and resolve cloud-related issues (root cause analysis), providing timely support and troubleshooting for system anomalies.
  • Monitor cloud resource utilization, optimize spending, and suggest cost-saving measures to align with budgetary guidelines.
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the organization's cloud capabilities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Computer or Electrical preferred) or computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services, using Infrastructure as Code and Terraform.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, e.g. Python, PowerShell, Ansible.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure as code practices, e.g. Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation.
  • Good understanding of cloud scalability concepts, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Solid knowledge of data streaming and processing technologies, e.g. Kafka, MQTT.
  • Solid knowledge of networking concepts and cloud-based networking configurations, e.g. VPN, security, security groups, load balancing, routing, etc.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity industry standards such as NIST or CIS is a plus.
